Creating The Perfect Wedding Website

Your wedding website is an essential tool for sharing information about your big day with your guests. It's a great way to keep everyone in the loop and ensure they have all the details they need to enjoy your wedding to the fullest. Here are some things you should include on your wedding website.

Introduction:

Start with a brief introduction to you as a couple, including your love story. Add fun pictures from when you were dating and your engagement photoshoot.  This will set the tone for your website and get your guests excited about the big day.

The Wedding Party:

Your wedding party is an essential part of your big day, so be sure to include information about them on your website. This can include their names, photos, and a brief bio. This will help guests get to know your wedding party and feel more connected to your wedding day.

Venue Location and Times:

One of the most important pieces of information to include on your wedding website is the venue location and times. Make sure to provide the full address of your ceremony, photoshoot and reception locations, as well as the start and end times for each event.  If any of your locations are tricky to find, try including a map.

Accommodation Information:

If you have guests coming from out of town, provide information about accommodation options near your wedding venue. You can suggest hotels or even provide a list of Airbnbs that are nearby. Your venue may be able to offer you recommendations for accommodations with their preferred vendors. Once you find a hotel you are interested in, speak with them to see if they can hold a block of rooms for you at a discounted rate. Provide the necessary information your guest will need to book under your hotel block and when they need to book their rooms by.

Dress Code:

If you have a specific dress code for your wedding, be sure to include it on your website with a small explanation so your guests know what is expected of them. This will help your guests choose the appropriate attire for your big day.

Meal Options:

If you're serving a plated meal at your wedding, ask guests to choose their meal preference in advance. If you're having a buffet, provide a list of what will be served.  Always check if there are any allergies you need to be aware of.

Music Options:

The best way to make sure your guests dance the night away is to ask your guest to provide a song request with their RSVP’s.  You can collect all of your requests and provide them to your DJ in advance or add them to a playlist.  If you choose to use a music streaming platform, make sure you have a paid membership so you don’t have commercials interrupting your reception.

Unplugged Ceremony:

If you are having an unplugged ceremony, make it clear on your wedding website, so your guest knows that it will not be appropriate to have their cameras, phones or tablets out during your event.  They can sit back, relax and enjoy being present in the moment.

Transportation Details:

Let your guests know if there will be any transportation provided to and from the venue, and if not, suggest local ride-sharing options.

Adult Only Weddings:

This one can be a bit tricky.  If you are choosing not to have kids at your wedding, make that clear on your wedding website by saying something like the following:

We love your children, but due to space restrictions, we can not accommodate any guests under the age of 18.

We respectfully request no childer under 18 attend the reception.

This is an adult only event.

RSVPs:

Your wedding website should make it easy for guests to RSVP to your wedding. Include an RSVP form on your website, along with a deadline for guests to RSVP by.

Registry Information:

While it's not necessary to include registry information on your wedding website, it can be helpful for guests who want to buy you a gift. Include links to your registry on your website so that guests can easily access it.

Event Hashtag:

Create a unique hashtag for your wedding and encourage guests to use it on social media. This will help you collect all the photos and posts from your big day in one place.

Your wedding website is an important tool for keeping guests informed and excited about your big day. By including these key details, you'll ensure that your guests have all the information they need to enjoy your wedding to the fullest.
